Obtaining PG&E Usage History for New Home Owners
In order to provide you with an accurate size for your Solar System Bid, we will need to obtain as much information as PG&E Solar Division can disclose about the previous owners usage history. Please follow the link and instructions below to get this information from PG&E. This process should only take a few minutes.
In the box on the left under “My Account” either:
- 1. Enter your username and password if you already have an account set up and click Go.
- 2. Or, under “Set up an Account”, click on “Sign up Now” to set up an account. You will need a copy of your bill to reference your account number and phone number. Fill in the information requested making sure to check the box that says you have read and agree to the terms. Then click on the “Continue” button. You will need your PG&E account number for the following screen. Enter the information required along with your telephone number. It is not necessary to enter your meter number as long as you enter your phone number.
- Now that you've logged in or have completed setting up an account, you will see your account page.
- On your account page click on "Billing" located right under the PG&E logo. A drop down box will appear. Click on: "Usage History."
- Click on the "Usage" tab.
- Click on the "View All" button in the upper right in gray.
- Click on the "Print" button.
- Provide us with as much Kilowatt usage history that you have; even if it's just one month.
- This information needs to be emailed to: williamb@westcoastsolar.com or faxed to 925-516-3934.
- 3. Unless you are able to contact the previous owner of the house and have them provide you with their past 12 month electric usage history:
- Call PG&E Solar Division at 877-743-4112
- You will speak with a Solar Customer Service Representative. Per California Privacy Law, PG&E is not allowed to provide you with detailed previous customer history, but there are several piece of information that PG&E is able to assist new home owners. Please obtain the following items that PG&E is legally able to provide you with:
- a. Kilowatt Usage Range for each year (ei: 500kwh - 1100kwh)
- b. Kilowatt Average for each year (ie: 10,000kwh)
- c. Kilowatt Usage Winter Range for each year (ie: 500kwh - 800 kwh)
- d. Kilowatt Average Winter Range for each year (ie: 4,000kwh)
- e. Kilwatt Usage Summer range for each year (ie: 800kwh - 1,000kwh)
- f. Kilowatt Average Summer Range for each year (ie: 6,000kwh)
- At minimum, we need you to please obtain information for a time frame of 12 months. The more years you can get will help you obtain a more accurate size for your solar system. Remember, you need to obtain the same 6 pieces of information for EACH year
