Solar Energy Rebates & Savings
Rebates
California currently offers rebates that will substantially lower the total cost of your system.
If you wish to install PV solar on your existing home, you can take advantage of the California Solar Initiative (CSI) rebate program. There are two incentive paths available to consumers: Expected Performance Based Buydown (EPBB) and Performance Based Incentive (PBI).
If you are a home builder or a homeowner building a new home you can take advantage of the New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP) rebate program.
If you are in our service area and Pacific Gas & Electric is your service provider you are eligible for these rebates.
Please contact a West Coast Solar associate for more information or you may visit the CSI web site at: http://gosolarcalifornia.ca.gov

Federal Tax Credits
Per SEIA’s Press Release:
On Friday, October 3, 2008, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1424, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 by a vote of 263-171. Soon after, President Bush signed the bill into law. The U.S. Senate passed its own version of the bill on October 1, 2008. In the bill are a number of provisions supporting energy efficiency and renewable energy, including all of the solar incentives advocated by SEIA.
This package includes an 8-year extension of the commercial and residential solar investment tax credit, completely eliminates the monetary cap for residential solar electric installations, and allows utilities and alternative minimum tax (AMT) filers to take the credit.
The Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is effective now. However, the lifting of the residential cap for solar electric property is effective after December 31, 2008. Residential solar water heating systems are subject to the $2,000 cap.
